2002 VINTAGE

Vin de Pays d'Oc

SAUVIGNON WHITE 2002

Technical Information

Grown in vineyards midway up the hillside, the vines are protected from the strong winds. As the vineyards are not extensive, meticulous management of them enables the harvest to benefit from the aromatic potential of the natural environment.

Note of the oenologist

This wine is sparkling pale yellow in colour with a hint of green.

The taste is refreshing, elegant and velvety smooth. The subtle harmony of honeysuckle, lavender, thyme and fennel, intermingled with hints of lemon and grapefruit create a mouth-wateringly dry, fruity wine with semi-sparkling qualities.

Best serve chilled between 8ºC - 12ºC.

Compliments fish and poultry, yet great to drink socially at any time

REDS

SYRAH 2002

Technical Information

Grown at the top of the hillside in an area known as Costes of St Cels, the shale soil gives this wine robustness and strength worthy of the syrah grape.

Note of the oenologist

This wine is bright, vivid red in colour, as can be expected from the aroma you get of red fruits, highlighted by the jamminess of the morrello cherry.

To the palette there is a wonderful concentration of red fruit flavours and a lingering of soft tannins. The balance of structure and body of this wine means that it will improve further with time.

The wine is an excellent choice when serving beef and duck, and as with many red wines, is perfect with cheese.

CLOSERAIE STE ANNE

Technical Information

A marriage of cabernet-sauvignon, merlot and syrah grapes, each contributing their own and very different character, the outcome of which is this beautifully balanced, well integrated wine.

Note of the oenologist

A wine with a fabulous nose of wild flowers found in the Mediterranean scrubland, reminiscent of dry hot summer days. The garnet-red, deep purple colour is a true indication of this rich wine, which doesn't disappoint the palate.

Well-rounded in structure, it is spicy yet subtle. Pepper, cloves, soft tannins and red fruits can all be found in this most enjoyable full-bodied wine.

Ready to drink now, it is a perfect accompaniment to roasted and grilled red meat, game and cheese, yet also perfect to serve at the beginning with aperitifs.
